Malpractice - professional practice that falls below a standard of professional practice.
Professional - (1) A person that has the responsibility for prescribing authoritative solutions to client-centered problems (Harris, Hannah, & Harris, 1998); (2) are people whose specific role is partially defined by a) an orientation to public good, b) specialized knowledge and training, and c) a dependent, vulnerable client (Weckert & Adeney, 1995).
Professional Code of Ethics - a formal statement (generally) of the general principles, professional ideals, and disciplinary rules that guides professional conduct.
Standard of professional practice - an average by which professional conduct is considered acceptable or not acceptable.
