Welcome to Tools4Use! The courses below are not ready yet but the descriptions should give you an idea about what this Moodle site will be covering. I will be starting with some exploratory courses under each category to connect students to the general principles and contexts in which these tools will be used. Later, we will go more in depth with specific features of a specific tool or set of tools but always, always in relation to what functions they support. I'm focusing on functions in an academic environment right now, particularly those related to the production of academic papers but will cover other functions and contexts as the need arises.

This course requires an enrolment key
We now have tools called aggregators or readers that we can use to collect content from news sites, blogs, and other kinds of websites and bring it into our own personal or organizational online spaces. How can we use these tools more effectively to deliver content to library users? This course explores the functionalities of one of the aggregators freely available on the Web, Google Reader. We will explore how to use it to search, add, categorize, filter, display, and share feed subscriptions.
Onfolio™ and Big6™: Integrating browser-based research tools and information skills process models
